Did some research via the internet and figured the problem was likely the moisture control board. Watched a video of the repair of a similar unit in order to locate the moisture control board. This is a metal spring that attaches to the dryer door hinge and provides tension to hold the door in the closed position. It ensures the door stays securely shut during operation. Replace this spring if the dryer door won't stay closed, swings open on its own, or if the existing spring is stretched, broken, or missing.
