This metal panel forms the bottom surface of your gas oven cavity. It protects the oven interior and helps distribute heat evenly during cooking. Replace it if you see rust, warping, or holes in your oven bottom that affect heating performance.
I ordered a new oven bottom ($65 instead of new stove). I put it off, anticipating that it wouldn't be as simple as it sounded. When I finally put the new one in, it literally took 4 minutes!! Remove the two screws in the back, old one slid out, new one slid in. Simple. Read more
