The Magnet Switch is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It plays an important role in monitoring the position of the refrigerator door.
The magnet switch works together with a magnet installed in the door gasket to detect when the door is opened or closed. It communicates this information to the control board which uses it to manage temperatures and fan speeds accordingly.
Causes of a bad magnet switch can include wear and tear over time, physical damage, or failure of internal components.

I removed the back cover and ground the old axel in had to remove it. I used two carpenter shims hammered under the frame to lift the refrigerator off the ground and put in the new wheel and axel.
