Replace your washer's 5/16-18 hex nut if the original is stripped, missing, or corroded. Secures components during assembly and maintenance.
The repair sounds easy, doesn't it? It would have been, except that I actually had to do laundry while waiting for the part to arrive. So, I was using a pair of channel locks to turn the exposed bolt/post sticking out in order to turn the washing machine on. In doing so, I actually crushed part of the thread on the bolt, so the starter knob wouldn't screw on! In order to screw on the new starter knob, I had to buy a special nut which rethreaded the bolt. Replaced 4 of the suspension springs with new brackets. I looked up my washer, looked at the diagrams, watched your video which made things a lot easier! Took the washer apart, found the problem, ordered the parts from you and the washer was put back together and working within 3 days! Love your website!
