This is a rubber gasket that sits inside the water inlet hose connection on your washing machine. It creates a watertight seal between the hose fitting and the water supply valve to prevent leaks. Replace this gasket if you notice water dripping from the hose connections at the back of the washer.

I pulled out the old housing and unplugged the motor. It pretty much came out in pieces. Remove the plastic from the motor, then had to take a pair of vice grips to hold the spindle in place to remove the auger. Remove what was still attached to the old Housing.
