I took the cover off the transmission and determined that the only possible knocking had to be coming from the yoke. I ordered a new yoke and all the tub seals needed to put it back together like new. I also ordered a new drive pulley bearing because this bearing is always turning whenever the washer is used. Perfectly! Replacing Agitator Shaft is not for the faint of heart. Replacing output shaft pinion gear on the bottom of the agitator shaft requires care, experience and patience with pressing/driving drift pins without damaging the gear itself. One slip of the drift/punch or press apparatus will ruin the gear/teeth face and will lead to failure of the transmission internally when put back into service. Removed agitator, inner washer barrel, and agitator shaft then drained all the water and emulsified oil out of the transmission. Filled the transmission with new oil and then replaced the worn agitator shaft, shaft collar, shaft o-ring and stem sealing system. Read more
