Specs: No.8X1/2 HEX WASHER HEAD
Replaced the control board after removing the inner door liner, plastice board cover and board itself, by removing screws, working various plastic clips/tabs and unclipping wire harnesses from board. most of time was spent cleaning the black soot from the door, which had a terrible burnt electrical/plastic fire smell. Cleaned mold/scale off of as much of the door as I could while in there as well. Removing parts without breaking plastic tabs to hold the new parts was trickiest part. Read more

This cabinet top clip is a small plastic retainer that secures the appliance's top/cabinet to the chassis, keeping the cabinet aligned and preventing movement or rattling. It restores a flush fit between the cabinet and body. What it does:
I replaced the fill valve assembly with a new one. Had to look carefully at the parts diagrams to make sure I ordered the right one since the serial number break old vs. new didn't seem to match the number on my machine. On this particular machine you don't need to pull it out too far from the wall-leave the hoses connected to the valve, remove the screw holding the valve bracket, and pull into the washing machine where you can easily access the hose ends. A putty knife is needed to open... Read more

I followed the Appliance Parts Pro's advice videos for the Maytag MAV6451AWW Atlantis washer on replacing the snubber ring and the suspension springs. Everything went just fine except replacing the two rear most suspension springs. None of the videos illustrated REINSTALLING the REAR springs which is extremely difficult because you can't get enough leverage with your arm extended. Observing my frustration, my wife recommended taking off the back side. You can't simply take off the back,... Read more

This 10-32 x 3/8 machine screw secures panels and components in many appliances where a small, threaded fastener is required. It replaces stripped, missing, or loose screws to restore stable assembly and reduce vibration. What it does:
This brake spring restores proper tension in the washer's transmission brake so the basket stops promptly and releases cleanly for spin. Replacing a fatigued or broken spring helps bring back smooth, reliable spin and stopping performance.
I replaced the: brake stator, rotor, and snubber ring. I did need to remove the stator which allowed the spring to decompress. I used 2 C-clamps to control the force when it was removed. To re-secure all the components I stood on the stator to compress the 200lbs spring until the screws could take the load safely. The entire thing took about an hour to slowly go through everything. New parts did the trick. Very easy to replace. Did not need to replace the base agitator, the fabric dispenser, or the screw; but, while it was apart it was simple to do. Read more
