Learned that the problem is failing hinge springs that no longer force the door closed; ordered replacement hinges from y'all. Found a few key instructions on the same page as the replacement parts. Once they got here, followed the instructions from the web page to remove the oven door to a drop cloth on a carpeted floor. Removing the oven door is described in detail on many online sources. It involves opening the installed door, depressing it slightly more and engaging clips on both sides that hold the moving hinge parts stationary. This enables the door to be partially closed and by lifting removed from the oven. The back section of the door can be taken off by removing a few screws giving access to the hinges.
