Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No error codes just not washing like it was supposed to and not cleaning dishes   Paul B. • Elizabeth , CO • September 14, 2015

Ordered the new o-rings for the pump housing and main filter screen unit. Cleaned all water hardness and other debris out of all parts. Main filter and inside parts clogged with water hardness/limescale and other debris. The 3" wide round filter internal was completely clogged with debris and some of the filter holes we crystallized with water limescale. The pump was in good shape but all the filters and parts just needed to be cleaned. Some useful tips on this Magtag Jet Clean... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door latch on my maytag dish washer broke   Richard K. • Raynham , MA • March 02, 2015

Got my son to fix it for me. He had to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to reach the remaining part of the door latch. He removed the spring mechanism and placed it onto the new replacement latch and replaced the single screw holding the latch onto the dishwasher. Took him about half an hour. It's good to have sons! Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Shutdown on wash cycle "motor high current" fault   Julian W. • Browns Summit , NC • July 21, 2015

Tested starter capacitor at 2.16µF. pic: http://s29.postimg.org/e05fufxdz/IMG_20150716_140312.jpg It should be 15µF. pic: http://s29.postimg.org/x3yrasa87/IMG_20150718_112327.jpg Contrary to service manual, capacitor is not accessible behind the toe/kick-plate; it is underneath but all the way towards the rear. To get to it, the dishwasher has to be removed and positioned face-down (drain first, use towels/drop-cloth). Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Upper spray arm fell off!   Grant I. • Lombard , IL • March 14, 2017

Found the retaining clip on the parts list. Watched the videos to figure out how the upper arm attaches. Tried cleaning out the terribly clogged upper arm. Then looked at the lower wash arm--WOW! Talk about ugly clogs! Watched second video to see how that lower arm comes off. Got the lower arm off and realized all the gunk I was able to poke out of the holes would just come back, so replaced both spray arms. YES, the upper arm includes the retaining clip!! Parts arrived in 1.5 days.... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The metal flanges on the heater element had worn away so that the rubber washer would not fit tight and leaked   Kenneth H. • Morgantown , PA • February 03, 2015

Replaced the heater element, per the video. Also had to connect a new terminal to one of the heater element wires. Once the heater was again connected electrically, the washer completed the entire wash cycle without hesitation. (During the time that the heater element was non-functional, the control "dial" would stop near the bottom, about half way through the cycle, and had to be advanced "one click" manually). The Heater Terminal Shield goes over the Heating Element Nut better if you... Read more
