Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher started making a grinding noise   Timothy T. • Alpharetta , GA • June 26, 2015

Searched the dishwasher model on ApplianceParts (had used them for a washing machine repair a few years earlier). Was looking for an exploded diagram of the internal parts so I could figure out what might be the problem. There was a video for a motor seal repair kit that seemed to address the bearings which is what I suspected was the culprit. The video started by noting that "you want to replace the motor seal if 1) you have a leak or 2) your dishwasher is making a noise". I watched the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Heard intermittent grinding noise for maybe five seconds after it switched from fill to wash then later in cycles also   David J. • Appleton , WI • March 15, 2015

Spun each of the three wash arms by hand. All could be made to touch/scrape but the top one was super wabbly. Ordered both the arm and clip. Repair took less than a minute. Used a screwdriver to pry loose one side of the old clip to remove. Aligned the new parts and easily snapped into place. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Rinse agent reservoir was leaking unit wouldn't hold liquid… just ran out as you filled it   Morgan L. • Cumming , GA • August 19, 2014

Ordered the part. Arrived the next day. Took the eleven screws off the door exposing the back of the Soap/Rinse Aid dispenser. Six screws hold it on the inside of the door. Popped off easily. There is a plug that runs from the timer to the dispenser…it's a pain to get off. Use a flat head screw driver. Screwed the new unit in place. Plugged it in. Put the door back together. I accidentally caught the door catch in the door and screwed it together seizing it...so I had to take the top screws off... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher would fill then shut off when restarted it would try to fill again overflowing   Robert J. • Schererville , IN • July 02, 2016

I replaced the float switch. It was an easy enough repair. I didn't have to remove the dishwasher to do the work. The part is accessible from behind the front skirt. The only problem was there is not a lot of space to work in. Getting the fastener off and on requires a stubby nut driver. I used a flexible extension instead. I had to feel for the nut as the bottom of the door blocked my view. A ten minute job and the dishwasher is back in service (for half the cost of my local parts place) While... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher locked up   Joseph B. • Grants Pass , OR • January 07, 2018

Early last year our dishwasher stopped running, and we did things the old fashioned way by standing in front of the sink ourselves. When Thanksgiving and Christmas came back to back with extended family in the home my wife said that she wanted her dishwasher back. After doing some reading and some simple diagnostic stuff, I contacted one of your staff through Chat, affirmed a few things, and ordered the right Control Board. The installation literally took less than 10 minutes, but my wife was... Read more

Tested starter capacitor at 2.16µF. pic: http://s29.postimg.org/e05fufxdz/IMG_20150716_140312.jpg It should be 15µF. pic: http://s29.postimg.org/x3yrasa87/IMG_20150718_112327.jpg Contrary to service manual, capacitor is not accessible behind the toe/kick-plate; it is underneath but all the way towards the rear. To get to it, the dishwasher has to be removed and positioned face-down (drain first, use towels/drop-cloth). Read more
