I turned off the power. I forced the door open and disassembled the door inside panel.(about 10 screws) Then I put in the handle which I had previously bought. This was the second time I replaced it and so I ordered more spares (this order). This is a problem with Maytag washers that do not have the big handle/latch. Ordered and received the parts quickly. This is a very easy fix. Other posters have said there are 4 screws to remove the old rack adjuster assembly and put the new one on. It was five screws for me. You will need a Torx (star tip) screwdriver. Be sure to also order a new cover. The old one does not fit, even though mine looked almost identical to the new one.
