Motor
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 131560100

The Motor is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It is responsible for driving the drum rotation in the dryer, allowing for the tumbling and drying of clothes. It converts electrical energy into mechanical motion, providing the necessary power to spin the drum and circulate air for efficient drying.

Causes of a faulty dryer motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage. These factors can result in issues such as the drum not spinning, unusual noises during operation, or the dryer not heating properly.

Symptoms of a bad dryer motor may include:

  • The drum not rotating or spinning
  • Unusual grinding or squealing noises while the dryer is in use
  • Dryer not generating heat or insufficient drying performance

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Drum stopped turning loud 60 hz hum from motor   James S. • Winchester , TN • November 03, 2018

The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. Lack of parts and hardware challenged the effort. For example, the blower assembly did not have the slide capture for the motor. I had to use the old one which is showing its age. With the exception of the drum... Read more

Lint Filter
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP33002970

The Lint Filter is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. It is designed to capture lint and debris that are produced during the drying cycle, preventing them from entering the dryer’s internal components and reducing the risk of fire hazards. This filter measures approximately 13 inches wide by 9 inches high.

Over time, the lint filter can become clogged with lint, get damaged, or develop holes that reduce its effectiveness. Regular cleaning is necessary to maintain its performance, but eventually, it may need replacement to ensure optimal dryer operation.

Symptoms of a bad lint filter include:

  • Reduced drying efficiency
  • Longer drying times
  • Excessive lint on clothing
  • Visible damage or holes in the filter

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Takes too long to dry

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken belt on a Maytag lde8604ace dryer.   Anthony B. • Lake Jackson , TX • April 27, 2020

Buy only an EOM Whirlpool belt (also fits this Maytag model) At your electrical service panel, move your dryer’s breaker(s) to their off position(s). Unplug the dryer. This project was quite easy once I figured out the best way to install the new belt. Two phillips head screws at the bottom of the front panel are all that need to be removed to remove the front panel and door. Lift from the bottom out about 45 degrees and the front will come off. Unplug the one wire that will be hindering... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My wife went to turn on the dryer and only got a buzzing noise   Glenn P. • Swanton , VT • May 31, 2014

I've never attempted to repair an appliance myself before, but I seen it was really bothering my wife because it was a Sunday with a holiday on Monday. So I pulled the dryer out and looked at the back and seen it was only six screws to take the top off the back. Then it was only two wires attached to the starter button. I called local appliance stores and they quoted me $50. service calls, $49 dollar part, and about three days before they could come. I went to the PC and typed in Dryer start... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Start knob broke off the front of dryer.   Charlotte B. • Gardena , CA • September 10, 2017

Fix was simple. Hardest part was taking off old part and attaching the new part. The drum was in the way but I worked around it. Started by opening dryer top, then unscrewing the timer mechanism in order to create some slack. Removed the wires from the start switch and replaced the old switch with the new one. Reconnected the wires and screwed everything back in place. Simple fix wish I had more strength in my hands. Girl Power!! Read more

Washer
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP314158

This small hardware washer serves as a spacer/bearing surface within appliance assemblies to distribute load and maintain proper clearance. Replacing a worn washer helps restore smooth operation and alignment of the affected control or mechanism. What it does:

  • Distributes fastener load and protects mating surfaces
  • Maintains correct spacing to prevent rubbing or binding
  • Provides a smooth bearing surface to reduce friction and noise
  • Common symptoms when worn or missing: looseness, scraping sounds, difficult or rough turning, misalignment
What's included:
  • 1 washer
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power; shut off gas or water if applicable
  • Note the stack order and orientation before removal
  • Inspect the mating fastener/shaft for wear and replace related parts if damaged
  • Reassemble and tighten fasteners snugly—do not overtighten—then test for smooth operation

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer paddle fell off due to stripped screws   Morgan D. • Woodinville , WA • July 29, 2021

This was my first ever self appliance repair. The videos provided by Appliance Parts Pros were excellent and gave me the confidence to do the work myself. My Maytag dryer model opened differently than the one in the videos. I had to remove the front panel and screwing in the paddle required reaching way back and working in a small space where I couldn't see what I was doing. It was uncomfortable but doable with a nut driver and a bit of elbow grease. The part fit perfectly and it looks good as... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken fan switch part # no longer available.   Joseph H. • Argyle , TX • May 31, 2020

Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our clothing had scorch marks on them occasionally   Judy M. • Columbiaville , MI • March 24, 2017

The nylon slides on the front felt seal were worn out, allowing the drum to sag in the front. This is where our clothing would get caught and scorch. I replaced the felt, rear bearing kit and while I was that far, I replaced the belt as it's very inexpensive. All done for less than 10% of a new dryer purchase. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The 220 volt cable was installed without the proper grommet the sharp edge of the dryer housing wore thru the insulation of the cable and almost caused a fire   Rainer R. • Osceola , WI • December 13, 2016

I had to replace the terminal block due to the 220 volt ark. A small fire at the bottom of the dryer caused the belt to partially burn. I had to replace it along with the 220 volt dryer cable. If the local hardware store would have taken the time to install the dryer with an additional 0.50 cent grommet, this could have been avoided. Thank you for sending the correct parts. This was the second time I had to use your service and I will continue to use it in the future. Read more
