• Takes too long to dry

Buy only an EOM Whirlpool belt (also fits this Maytag model) At your electrical service panel, move your dryer’s breaker(s) to their off position(s). Unplug the dryer. This project was quite easy once I figured out the best way to install the new belt. Two phillips head screws at the bottom of the front panel are all that need to be removed to remove the front panel and door. Lift from the bottom out about 45 degrees and the front will come off. Replaced the power resistor on the timer assembly. Solved the problem. Read more

Fix was simple. Hardest part was taking off old part and attaching the new part. The drum was in the way but I worked around it. Started by opening dryer top, then unscrewing the timer mechanism in order to create some slack. Removed the wires from the start switch and replaced the old switch with the new one. Reconnected the wires and screwed everything back in place. Simple fix wish I had more strength in my hands. Girl Power!! Read more

This was my first ever self appliance repair. The videos provided by Appliance Parts Pros were excellent and gave me the confidence to do the work myself. My Maytag dryer model opened differently than the one in the videos. I had to remove the front panel and screwing in the paddle required reaching way back and working in a small space where I couldn't see what I was doing. Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more

The nylon slides on the front felt seal were worn out, allowing the drum to sag in the front. This is where our clothing would get caught and scorch. I replaced the felt, rear bearing kit and while I was that far, I replaced the belt as it's very inexpensive. All done for less than 10% of a new dryer purchase. Read more

I had to replace the terminal block due to the 220 volt ark. A small fire at the bottom of the dryer caused the belt to partially burn. I had to replace it along with the 220 volt dryer cable. If the local hardware store would have taken the time to install the dryer with an additional 0.50 cent grommet, this could have been avoided. Thank you for sending the correct parts.
