This replacement part is a door gasket, and it is intended for use in refrigerators and freezers. This is a genuine replacement part made by Frigidaire. This gasket is an important part of any fridge or freezer. This part is used around the lining of the fridge doors so that the appliance is sealed shut when not in use. This is important so that the cool air stays inside and is able to keep the food and other items at the correct temperature. A new gasket lining might be needed if the current one is visibly falling off or not attached any longer. The gasket might have a leak or be coming apart at different areas on the appliance. Simple check around the lining of the gasket to check if there are any visible gaps. If the appliance is not staying at the correct temperature it can also be because the gasket is not connected properly. No special tools should be needed for this repair as the user should be able to simply attach the gasket around the appliance. Note that this is a genuine OEM replacement part and is told individually.

I positioned the new gasket in place and replaced the snaps and 4 screws. Then replaced the freezer door. Side note: Four of the snap heads broke off during removal, so I had to replace them with some flat head screws. Read more
