Outer Door Frame (Black)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 8169353

Restore a clean, factory look with this black outer door frame. It's the structural and cosmetic front trim of the microwave door, supporting the handle and covering the outer edges of the door assembly.

  • Replaces a cracked, warped, or broken outer door frame
  • Provides mounting points for the handle and front trim
  • Helps hold the door glass and inner door components in place
  • Typical signs: loose handle area, rattling trim, chips, or visible cracks
What's included: One black outer door frame. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the microwave before servicing.
  • Remove the door and carefully separate the inner and outer frames; support the glass.
  • Transfer the handle, screws, clips, and inserts from the original door to the new frame.

Outer Door Frame (White)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 8169481

The outer door frame is the white decorative border that surrounds and structures the exterior of your appliance's door, giving it a finished appearance while protecting internal door components. It holds the door panels together and contributes to a proper seal. Replace this part if the frame is cracked, warped, discolored, or if the door no longer closes evenly.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave outer plastic brittle cracking broken   Karl M. • Westminster , MD • January 21, 2023

Whirlpool microwave model MH8150XJQ-0 manufactured May 2002. The outer door frame and vent grill became brittle, developed cracks and breaks with little pieces around the screws falling off... that sort of thing. It's over 20 years old so no complaints. The rest of the microwave is fine and since it's mounted over the stovetop, I don't want to deal with measuring, selecting, removing, installing, etc. when this one still works. I'm glad AppliancePartsPros had the parts. Anyone considering this... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave inlet cover had a hole burned in it microwave was arching during use   James M. • Atlanta , GA • December 18, 2014

Pried the old cover off. It was like a piece of particle board glued to the roof of the microwave and connected via plastic inserts. Cleaned the surface area of the microwave with the light sandpaper and cloth that was provided with the repair kit. Applied glue to the new cover and attached it with the push connectors to the holes in the inside roof of the unit. Let it sit over night and everything works fine. Read more
