This safety component prevents the microwave door from being opened during operation and is located on the door frame or handle assembly. Replace it if the door won't latch securely, the microwave runs with the door open, or if the button is physically damaged.
It took a little while to figure how to get the control module off and apart. There was really one screw that set it all loose and once I figured that out it went well. Changing the pad was relatively easy. Reassembling it I did forget the lens that masks the display, and did not realize it until everything was back together. I told my wife "we will live without it". Ultimately it was a great job and should add a few more years to the time when I will have to purchase a new microwave. Read more
