Let me first say that I did not intend to fix this microwave due to the age, however there are literally zero new microwaves that are small enough (height and depth) to fit. Replaced a bad thermostat. The factory thermostat had a bad internal connection (one contact was loose) and that caused the insulation to melt with the eventual failure of the thermostat. I ordered the exact replacement part from "AppliancePartsPros.com" and quickly saved the cost of a new built in Microwave oven. Read more
I ordered a replacement door latch. It was simple to snap off the plastic trim bezel on the inside of the door, then raise the existing latch and unhook it from its guide. (Lift and pull sideways until it snaps out of its track.) Read more
I unplugged the microwave and took off a couple of screws and security screws to access the inside panel. Noticed the door latch bracket was broken.....replaced it and put it back together. All in all took about 15 minutes and the problem was fixed! Read more

I followed the video instruction on how to dissemble the bottom of the micro-convection to be sure it would be something I thought I could do (I'm a 60+ female who has never done anything of this sort before) and decided it looked simple enough.
