The Evaporator Fan Motor Kit is an OEM part compatible with GE refrigerators. It is a critical component responsible for circulating air and maintaining proper airflow within the refrigerator's evaporator system, ensuring efficient cooling and temperature regulation. It features a shaft that measures 3/8 of an inch and two right-side terminals. Notably, the motor no longer comes with harness wires, which must be obtained separately for installation.
Symptoms of a faulty evaporator fan motor include:
Causes of a bad evaporator fan motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical issues or short circuits, or physical damage from foreign objects or improper maintenance.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore refrigerator models.
I called AppliancePartsPros.com and they helped me diagnose the problem for this very nice, and well designed refrigerator, that I wanted to keep rather than recycle at the local scrap yard. It turns out that all it needed was a small electric fan (i.e., evaporator fan) to circulate the air from the freezer coils throughout the refrigerator [all other major components were good]. It was really easy to locate the motor and fan and replace it. I saved hundreds of $$$. I really appreciated the... Read more
The GE access cover is an OEM replacement part responsible for covering the compressor area on a refrigerator. This panel is located on the rear or bottom of the refrigerator and provides easy access to the compressor and condenser coils and prevents dirt and debris from entering the compressor area. When this part becomes damaged, it can lead to issues such as poor cooling performance, excessive noise from the compressor area, or even compressor overheating.
Symptoms of a bad access cover include:
Causes of a bad access cover can include accidental impacts, wear and tear from frequent removal and reinstallation, and environmental factors like temperature fluctuations or moisture exposure.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I removed the damaged cover and replaced with the new cover. I knew what to expect as your website had a video showing how to make the repair. Read more
The Fan Blade Grommet is an OEM replacement part for GE brand refrigerators. Located behind the evaporator fan blade where its central shaft passes through, this rubber sealing piece creates a protective barrier isolating the fan assembly.
Causes of a potentially problematic fan blade grommet include cracks or deterioration that develop from continuous vibration and impacts over extended use. Exposure to temperature fluctuations can also cause the rubber to harden and lose elasticity.
Symptoms of a faulty fan blade grommet include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore model refrigerators.
Replaced the evaporator fan motor, fan blade, and two rubber grommets. I was careful to mark screws and bolts with sticky notes to ensure getting them back in the right place. I had all the new parts ready before I started the job because I did not have an extra freezer for my food and I wanted to do this quickly and only once. New parts went in well, Took a while to install the ring for the new fan blade using my long nose pliers. I would have saved time if I had the special ring spreader... Read more

I was told about aplliancepartspros.com from a coworker. I went to the website and put in my part number and then did a cross reference with my model number from my refrigerator. Even after asking for two day shipping my part was still cheaper than the local appliance store. I took a picture of the old part before disconnecting from the refrigerator. Two days later my part was delivered to my front door. I pulled up the picture I took and used it as a reference to install the new part. I... Read more

I defrosted the freezer coils in the overhead compartment and, unfortunately, had to dispose of the spoiled food in the lower, "fresh food" section. I used a flat-head screwdriver to advance the timer to the defrost cycle but was not having any luck with the heater element. I removed the defrost heater bar from the lower section of the coils and used my meter, set on ohms, to test it for continuity. I got no "tone" from my meter which spelled bad news for the heater. I went online to find a... Read more
