Plastic trim bezel that mounts around the lid lock on your top-load washer's panel. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore a clean finish.
Put in new lid lock. This is my second one in 1 year. Whirlpool suggested I leave it loose so that if somebody did try and force it open, it wouldn't break it. This lid lock has 4 wires and cannot be bypassed. Read more
Fixes F51 error code and washer won't spin or agitate issues. Direct-drive stator replacement takes 30-60 minutes with video guidance.
Once you tilt the washer and prop it against something it's a pretty straight forward and easy fix. If you watch the instructional "How-to" video beforehand, the repair should take between 30 to 60 minutes. It all depends on your skill level and if everything goes smoothly. Make sure you have all the proper tools, grease and blue thread lock at the ready to help you move this repair along faster. This repair was in conjunction with replacing the motor position sensor. I didn't know I needed a... Read more

Washer overfilling or not filling properly? A damaged pressure switch hose prevents accurate water level sensing. Easy 15-minute DIY fix with video.
I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I ordered the switch and the tubing, WP353255, in case mine was no longer any good, and I also ordered the retaining clips for the control cabinet, (2) of WP8312709, because they can be damaged when accessing the controls. My new... Read more

Fix washer not filling, slow fill, or water leaks with this water inlet valve assembly. Moderate DIY repair, typically takes 30-60 minutes to install.
I replaced the water inlet valve assembly. We have relatively hard water and I assumed that over the years those inlet valves were clogged with calcium deposits which in turn led to the high pitched squealing as water was added to the machine. The hardest part of the entire job was releasing the top of the washer to disconnect the hoses from the valve assembly. Everything else was relatively easy. We simply followed the online video. My washer no longer screams and I'm thrilled! Your... Read more
Replacement water fill hoses for washing machines. Connect home water supply to washer. Replace when cracked, leaking, or showing rubber wear or corrosion.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

Fix a washer that won't spin or agitate properly. This drive motor powers the wash basket rotation. Moderate DIY repair, typically 15-30 minutes.
Initially fixed the gear drive, splutch and had new belt, but once I got under the machine I realized the belt had destroyed the pulley on the electric motor and the belt guard. I installed the new gear drive and splutch, then once I got the motor and belt guard in, I installed those. The motor and guard took 15 min total to complete. Perhaps, the only thing wrong was the belt and pulley, but I’m glad I changed it all out, and now know everything is new under there! Read more
