This kit contains components necessary to repair or replace the mechanical timer that controls oven and cooktop functions. Located behind the control panel, service is needed when the timer doesn't advance, sticks in one position, or when oven cycles don't complete properly.
Removing the unit and opening it up was relatively easy. The repair parts were easy to install however the wiring instructions did not match the parts exactly. The timer had two solid black leads coming out of it but the instructions cites a white wire and a blue/black wire. Luckily, one of the black leads had a male blade connector that connected to the override switch after some deductive reasoning. Called appliancePartsPros. They diagnosed the problem as a bad thermostat. ID'd the right thermostat and confirmed I could return it if it didn't fix the problem. It took a little effort to figure out how to get at the old one. Once I did, it was an easy fix. Great service, great help! Read more
