This flat foam insulation assembly fits inside the freezer door to restore proper door insulation and help the freezer maintain consistent interior temperatures. Replacing degraded door foam can reduce frost buildup and improve cooling efficiency. What it does:

Determined that the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment was not running properly and making noise. Ordered a replacement evaporator fan and blade. Removed the freezer door, baskets, and side rails. Removed the back panel of the freezer compartment by unscrewing and disconnecting the power cable connected to the fan. Removed fan blade. Rubber grommet seals the ice maker fill tube where it enters the refrigerator cabinet. Replace if cracked, brittle, leaking, or missing to restore seal.
Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends.
