Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Cracked water dispenser line   Ryan H. • Johns Creek , GA • August 23, 2015

After researching elsewhere and not getting much help or confidence I would get the right part or even be able to do the repair myself, I stumbled upon this website and found it much more helpful than even GE's site. After watching videos here on similar fridges I ordered the part for my fridge and got the line replaced in about 30 mins (really a whole morning but that was to clean out and clean my fridge). I found that whoever had installed the first supply had routed it next to the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser motor not working ice auger had a broken blade   Ray D. • Conroe , TX • August 30, 2021

Replaced motor and solenoid cube along with dispenser auger. Simply watched video on repair and installation and really had no problem. My refrigerator is so old that one of the holes in the motor did not align properly. Had to drill another hole to mount the motor to the housing, took ten minutes. The ice auger took the longest as I was afraid of breaking the plastic housing trying to get the tabs to release. Had to watch the video twice to make sure I got the blades back in the right order.... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ge side by side psc25 series ff section was not cooling well (42 degrees best it could do)   Robert B. • Morgantown , WV • October 19, 2014

Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. All five thermistors indicated ok on diagnostic also, but I read more than one time "replace the thermistors no matter what if your FF section isn't cooling". So I ordered all five thermistors and defrost limiter thermostat. Received all in 48 hours (great shipping service), took me about three hours to replace all thermistors and thermostat just as... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Many many things apparently fridge warm then freezer warm   David I. • Golden , CO • January 05, 2015

Temp sensors (3 or them), new heater, then finally custom cool/fan and shroud to bring the fridge temp back up. I don't believe the sensors were bad as the checked fine with a millimeter, coil heater was bad as they were frozen solid, and the fan was intermittent. I originally thought I fixed with the coil heater, but the fridge stopped working about a day later. Discovered the problem using the door switch. If you press the switch, the custom cool fan should turn on to circulate cool air... Read more

Gasket (Door Seal)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR24X20457

This door gasket seals the refrigerator/freezer compartment to keep cold air inside and help maintain consistent temperatures. A tight seal reduces frost buildup and lowers energy use while helping food stay fresher. What it does

  • Forms an airtight seal around the door to prevent warm air from entering
  • Helps maintain proper internal temperature and reduce compressor run time
  • Reduces frost and ice buildup by keeping humidity out of the compartment
  • Common symptoms of a failing gasket: visible gaps, cold air leaks, increased frost, or higher energy bills
What's included One replacement door gasket Install notes
  • Clean the door frame and gasket channel before installation for a secure fit
  • Warm the gasket slightly to aid installation if needed; avoid overstretching
  • Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before working on the door for safety
