Fridge was making clicking noise and not cooling. Ice dispenser wasn’t working either. Research lead me to believe main board was out. YouTube video said to also replace compressor start relay and overload as well. Replaced all 3 parts in 15 minutes and back up and running. Read more
I looked for a site that sold replacement parts for my make of GE refrigerator. I found AppliancePartsPros, and was very surprised at how organized it was. By entering the model number of my refrigerator, I was shown a set of (approximately) 8 general parts diagrams for my refrigerator. I chose the ice making/dispensing diagram. I matched the part that shattered (from use) to what was on the diagram. What I didn't know was how to install the part. I saw references by other customer comments to... Read more
The left siderail broke - no doubt from pushing the ice bucket in too vigorously, too many times! In any case, removing the screws holding the rail to freezer wall was not too hard - having a 1/4" socket, with extension, made it easier. Turning the screws with only a screw driver handle, with 1/4" and 5/16" sockets would be tough. Dispenser works fine now. Read more

Replaced motor and solenoid cube along with dispenser auger. Simply watched video on repair and installation and really had no problem. My refrigerator is so old that one of the holes in the motor did not align properly. Had to drill another hole to mount the motor to the housing, took ten minutes. The ice auger took the longest as I was afraid of breaking the plastic housing trying to get the tabs to release. Had to watch the video twice to make sure I got the blades back in the right order.... Read more
Swapped it out for new tube. Take 5 minutes and zero effort. The drain tube will clog with mold. You can clean it out but the tube will clog again despite's you best efforts as the tube wall provide a great habitat. Ordered new tubes to facilitate swap-outs. Old tubes can be cleaned but will recolonize quickly. Read more
I checked your video online and found that it did not apply to my refrigerator, a GE Profile model. I wasn't sure if I needed to remove the bracket/escutcheon or not. The repair proved to be much easier once I removed the control panel (after first turning off the power), unclipped the wire harnesses, removed four screws holding the assembly and then took out the assembly. It took some time to determine how to remove the old assembly and insert the new one without damaging the new one. A... Read more
