Kim B Washington , DC January 25, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PSC23SGRCSS Broken ice assembly the flap that you press to activate the ice/water dispenser snapped off I checked your video online and found that it did not apply to my refrigerator, a GE Profile model. I wasn't sure if I needed to remove the bracket/escutcheon or not. The repair proved to be much easier once I removed the control panel (after first turning off the power), unclipped the wire harnesses, removed four screws holding the assembly and then took out the assembly. It took some time to determine how to remove the old assembly and insert the new one without damaging the new one. A spring proved a little challenging but the bigger issue was aligning a flat piece of plastic attached to the assembly so that pressing the assembly would activate the dispenser properly.
