My wife put a pan of bars under the ice maker to cool. This melted the ice in the bottom of the ice tray together. Once it froze the auger motor stripped the drive gear trying to dispense the ice that was frozen together. It worked on crushed for a little while since the auger motor runs backwards to crush ice but it still failed after a while. I bought this auger motor and swapped it out. Remove rear dust panel and grill to expose compressor and fan. Three 1/4 bolts hold fan in place from rear, need to "reach around and feel" used a 1/4" ratchet but nut driver would work as well to remove old fan/bracket. Disconnect electrical connection. On new fan, push fan blade onto fan shaft. New fan comes with 3 mounting arms and rubber bushings. Insert rubber bushings into old screw holes on the refrigerator, push new mounting arms through, hook end first. Use old 1/4" mounting... Read more
