This is an evaporator cover assembly that is used in many refrigerators. It is a component that is located on the top of the evaporator at the back of the fresh food compartment in the refrigerator. It acts as a protective part for this essential component of the appliance. The evaporator helps remove heat from water, air, and other items inside the refrigerator.If the evaporator cover assembly is cracked or broken, it will no longer be capable of protecting the evaporator and should be replaced. The typical tools needed include a flathead screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver. Make sure the refrigerator is unplugged for safety reasons. Remove the door bins and vegetable drawers to gain access to the fresh food evaporator cover assembly. Take out the screws to remove it from the refrigerator. Install the new component in the same location and reassemble the refrigerator. Plug it back in before using it.Designed for refrigerators, this is an authentic OEM replacement part. When we inspected the first time we found that Plactic had broken from the spiral part that for wards the ice. Also there were cracks in two places of other parts. There was a hole in the bottom of the bin. The new spiral was assembled and two new parts were replaced with help from the video and the diagram and the unit worked well.
