Damper/Insulation Kit (Damper Insulation)

By: Whirlpool

Part Number: 12001838

This damper/insulation kit replaces the refrigerator air-damper insulation that helps control airflow between compartments. Restores proper temperature balance and reduces cold spots for more consistent cooling. What it does:

Replaces missing or damaged damper insulation that can let cold air bypass the damper
Helps maintain correct airflow between freezer and fresh-food sections
Can reduce uneven temperatures and localized freezing or warm spots
Helps limit condensation and frost buildup around the damper area

What's included: One damper/insulation kit (single kit as shipped) Install notes:

Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
Access typically requires removing interior panels or the damper housing; follow the OEM repair instructions
Handle insulation material gently and position exactly as removed to seal properly
