I found several posting regarding this problem for my Samsung refrigerator model which were very helpful. I could probably have just defrosted the refrigerator to see if the fan would restart but I also had a long term fix I wanted to try (see below) which I would need to remove the cover to do anyway. I also could have only purchased a new fan (in case it was burnt out from being stuck with ice) but I know my limited skills/patience when it comes to things like this and figured I'd just buy... Entire Samsung Ice Master is modular. Ordered the "ASSY CASE-FAN AUGER MOTO " part and replaced original...Removed ice basket. Removed Cover-Wire Harness by removing screw and unplugged both the modular icemaker and part mentioned above. Icemaker is removed by sliding forward and down. The "ASSY CASE-FAN AUGER MOTO" part at back of ice compartment is held in by plastic clip on bottom of compartment. No screws to remove...just lift up clip and slide forward.
