Ordered a new part from Appliance Parts Pros. Looked online on how to replace it. Used a flat head screw driver to "pop" or pry off the faceplate mounted to the door. Once removed unscrewed two Phillips head screws to access the broken ice dispenser paddle. The old paddle popped off the hinge and the new one easily snapped into place. Refrigerator door shelf bin. Color: clear. Measures about 18 inches wide by 4 inches high by 8 inches deep.
No tools needed for this repair. Top bin broke and fell on the bin below which caused it to break. Definitely a design flaw when so much weight is resting on a narrow,thin piece of plastic. Note: A full bin is an overloaded bin! I appreciate pricing and quick service of APP. Read more
The ice tray would not operate properly because the ice maker support was broken. I found the support I needed on Appliance Parts Pros site, then I watched their video on how to remove the support / ice tray from the fridge. Following the video I replaced the support and ice tray then put the assembly back into the fridge and "wallah" started making ice. Thanks to Appliance Parts, I successfully completed the repair and saved a bundle of money. All made possible by their concise video. Read more
Removed lower rear cover, compressor was very hot. This is usually a capacitor issue, but the schematic on the back of the unit shows a start/ run relay. For the low cost, I replaced both. parts were delivered in 2 days. The start/ run relay is mounted directly to the compressor. It slides on/ off with a little bit of prying. No fasteners. This refrigerator evaporator assembly includes two DA60-00040A spacers, two DA60-00041A spacers, one DA32-10105R sensor, one DA47-00095E sensor, mounting clip DA61-00453A and the defrost heater. Defrost heater not available separate.
Bought the complete coil assembly, and separated the heater tube. Had to bend each tang that held the heater tube. Took some time, but honestly was not that big of a deal. Took a fill day to defrost before turning back on, as the drain port in the fridge was completely frozen. Not too mention a hidden block of ice in the fan assembly. Reviewed AppliancePartsPros.com troubleshooting and videos online and determined the Evaporator heater section was not defrosting coil. Replaced the Evap. Heater and Temp Sensors and while I had this apart, I changed the evap. fan motor as a preventive measure while I had this section of the refrigerator apart.
