This was my wife's mothers's vacuum and had sentimental value. I looked at the exploded view on Appliance Pros and determined that it may be the brushes on the motor were worn out. I took the vacuum apart and confirmed that the brushes were worn down to where contact was random at best. After recieving the brushes from Appliance Pros I replaced the brushes and the vacuum worked like new. I bent out part of the brush holder for easier installation of the wire on the brush.
