This lid switch probe detects when your washer lid is properly closed and allows the machine to operate safely. It replaces a worn or damaged probe that no longer makes proper contact with the lid switch. If your washer won't start even with the lid closed, or stops mid-cycle when the lid is secure, this probe may need replacement.
I had a friend watch the video and do the work. There was a problem in that the screws were rusted to the back plate and would not screw off. My friend had to use a drill to drill through them to be able to remove them. He had to go to a hardware store to buy a new set. Once we had the new screws it went fairly quickly.
