I followed his instructions and moved the circuit board from the old assembly to the new one in less than ten minutes. It was a really easy repair even for someone mechanically challenged like me. After trying some cleaning to get rid of the SE error code, I ordered a new control panel and a new grille. Both took about 6-7 days to arrive; the Xmas and New Years weekend slowed delivery down. The parts came well-boxed and protected. The plastic film on the control panel wasn't applied by the factory with the same quality process as the original, so along the edges there were small bubbles of air and overall was not applied as well. The 2 year old Samsung overhead unit completely failed. It showed no power - no clock, lights, or anything. My wife wanted to go back to the store to complain and buy a complete new unit. A quick Google Search revealed the solution. Cleaning the contacts on the ribbon cable would probably solve the problem. So, I pulled the ribbon out of the socket and cleaned it with a pencil eraser per the instructions on YouTube. Easy. Hmm...maybe I should use some contact cleaner on the ribbon to make sure it's really clean.... ..so after the ribbon cable dissolved, I started searching for replacement parts.
