Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. Oven door had been acting up for years (difficult to close). One of the hinges finally broke, so I ordered a replacement. Installation was about as easy as it gets. One trick: FIRST get a paperclip (or small nail or something similar) and put it through the hole in the existing hinge that you are not replacing to keep the hinge from retracting all the way later when the door is removed.
