Fix a trash compactor ram that won't move, binds, or stalls. This power nut threads onto the drive screw to restore smooth up-and-down ram travel.
I removed the front panel,by removing the small screws underneath it, then removed the screws on the front of the top panel and removed it. I bought new thrust races, a drive gear kit, bearings and a sprocket. When the bearing went out, the thrust races, washers, one bottom plate, and a sprocket was eaten up by the the chain due to the slack being created.
