This is a GE control board assembly for washing machines. The washer's main control board assembly is the housing for the main controls and the control board. The washer's control board regulates the cycles on a washer. If the washer's main spin and draining functions have quit working, the problem may be remedied by installing a new control board assembly. The issues could happen gradually or all at once, depending on whether the control board has completely shorted out. There could be noticeable smoke or a burning smell coming from the control board assembly if this part shorts out. This control board assembly is a genuine OEM product sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is only available individually and is not included with any other components. This part is compatible with GE and Hotpoint appliances.
Ordered water inlet solinoid valve and water temperature probe sensor. Items arrived in a few days. Appliance Parts Pros on-line video was extremely helpful for replacing inlet valve. It only took 20 minutes. Recommend replacing temp. sensor probe while old valve is out before mounting new valve. Only 2 screws-Easy. Entire job took about an hour start to finish. Saved at least $150 doing it myself over repairman and saved $750 over replacing the washer. Happy wife, happy life! Read more
Water would continue to fill the machine even when the washer was unplugged. Had it stopped filling when the electrical was disconnected, the problem might have pointed to the pressure switch that determines water level but that was not the case. So, the valve was ordered and it was a very simple job to just replace the old part. Read more

The video was very helpful. the hardest part is getting off old rusted parts. I had to use a hacksaw to remove one of the old clamps. I had to open the bottom of the washing machine to remove of the other clamp. Putting the new parts on was easy. Getting everything apart was a challenge. This assembly controls the washing machine's agitation and spin functions through a combination transmission and brake system. It transfers motor power to create the washing and spinning motions while providing proper stopping control. Replace this part if your washer won't agitate, won't spin, makes loud grinding noises, or if clothes remain soaking wet after the spin cycle.
Replaced transmission and brake assembly. The video on appliancepartspros.com was very helpful. A few comments: 1) On my model, there was no wiring harness to unhook to detach the lid switch, as was shown on the video. Instead, I had to remove the switch itself. Underneath, one of the short edges of the switch has a clip that you depress, and then you can poke the switch up. Once it's loose, then you can turn it a bit and work it down through the hole so it's free of the lid. 2) The tub nut may... Read more
