The Holder is an OEM part for LG front-loading washing machines. It is a plastic mounting bracket or suspension system that attaches to the rear of the washer tub and helps secure internal components like hoses, pulleys, and the rear bearing in place during spin cycles. Subject to force and vibration, the holder must withstand years of washing use.

I think it was leaking both from the front and the bottom somehow. The boot seal was pretty cruddy anyways so I figured even if it was wrong, it was time to replace. You basically had to take the entire washing machine top and front off. This takes a little bit of time and organization but is relatively easy. A repair man said a bearing was out and estimated repairs at $600+, or just replace unit. I researched parts and video online and decided to tackle repair myself.
