The Evaporator Fan Grommet is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool refrigerators. Found along the rear wall of the fridge compartment where the evaporator fan motor is located, the evaporator fan grommet serves an important sealing function.

This helps prevent the escape of cold air from the refrigeration system and allows the evaporator fan motor to work efficiently.
Causes of a bad evaporator fan grommet include cracks or splits from vibration stress over years of use. Dried-out seals no longer achieving a tight fit is also possible.
