This thaw heater is the evaporator defrost heating element that melts frost during the refrigerator's defrost cycle. Replacing a failed heater helps restore normal defrosting and reduce frost buildup that can restrict cooling. What it does:
I replaced the fan and heater element. The replacement was not an exact match. I had to adjust the parts to get the harness to fit the plug was not the correct size.
