The fix was simple. Taking off the old switch was a breeze, just pressed the tab off with the thumb and stuck the new switch in and that fixed it. The price of the item was very attractive also. Had seen the same for almost twice the price in other stores... Not entirely happy about the shipping charges for something this small, which cost me more than $10. Read more
I knew nothing about these vents, but it seemed reasonable to try to replace the gear motor, so we ordered the part. The part came within a couple of days and was securely packaged. It did take some time to find the part, because the GE part number is not listed on the side of the motor that can be seen without removing the part, which I didn't want to do until I had the new motor. Could not use the screw head to hold the roller while turning the nut. So end up prying the roller and ball bearings off the shaft and using a vice grips to hold the shaft while taking the nut off. Thereafter, very simple to install this new roller. I did the pair as the other bottom roller would likely fail soon too Read more
