Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The oven control pad bake button is not functioning   Roy K. • Elmhurst , IL • May 16, 2014

Took off the the front panel. First removed the knobs, then the four screws above each knob stem. With oven door open removed four screws under the front door oven panel. Last removed the two side screws on the oven control. Keeping hold of the front unit. Then removed the pigtail attached to the panel and the ground screw. Now the unit is detached. Then removed control box with the two screws. This did two things. One easier access to the ribbon inserts for easier removal. Second since the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The keypad functions did not work the clock worked but it could not be changed   Craig D. • Hollywood , CA • September 10, 2014

Originally, I was told by Appliance Parts technician that the control board needed replacing. I ordered a new board and replaced it. No change. Called another AP technician and he said it is the panel control board which is the keypad that needed replacing and promptly provided me a return authorization number to return the control board. I replaced the panel control board (key pad) and all is working once again. I probably saved $600 by doing it myself. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Control panel on jenn air stopped working   Timothy E. • Waterford , MI • November 05, 2017

It was very easy. First, researched the problem online and found a great video on YouTube which clearly showed the same problems we were having. Went to AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the new Front Control Panel for about $230 along with a new oven door gasket for about $20 (YouTube video talks about how heat escapes quite easily and it is best to replace the gasket often). To replace the control panel you have to remove 2 side screws (1 on each side likely hidden by the counter) and 4... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Front panel stopped working and so did the oven bake time   David R. • Portland , OR • November 22, 2018

My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. We carefully looked at how the old parts were assembled and simply reversed the assembly with the new parts. Since one of our parts was the entire front head, it went together quickly and it was a perfect... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg stove touch control panel broke   John P. • Woodbridge , VA • March 25, 2016

To replace the stove touch control panel was easy. From the rear of the stove, remove the cover for the heating element / lock actuator (left side, 2 screws), remove the upper panel (8 perimeter screws & 4 centerline screws). From the control panel, remove the 14 connectors. To remove the ribbon cable pull connector retainer (about 1/8"), pull ribbon cable out of retainer. On the front of the stove, bottom of the face, remove the two screws that retain the control panel (outer most screw on... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven continued to heat beyond preheat setting constantly.   Kathleen F. • Millsboro , DE • July 03, 2017

Replaced thermostat as a precaution; replaced control board, replaced overlay. The new overlay was important, because the old one did not come off the old board completely. Others have said they used old overlay, but that would not have worked in my case. Repair was completely successful! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The broil button and 4 number buttons would not work on the touchpad of my maytag built in oven   Ron D. • Scottsbluff , NE • May 19, 2016

I ordered the control panel from Appliance Parts Pros and installed it. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to unhook the 2 strips on the inside from the oven. All you need to do is lift up the back side of the clips and the strips will come right out. Install the new strips in the clips and then push down. Very simple if you are familiar with this type of connection. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Jenn air slide in gas range touchpad quit   Christine C. • St. Louis , MO • June 04, 2016

After doing some research online, I saw that to have an appliance repair person come out to fix the touchpad, would cost us well over $500. Some people said they would charge $500 for the part alone. I did a search for the part using our model number and read the reviews on this site and thought we'd give it a try. It was a very easy repair--anyone could do it. You basically remove four side screws and then the screws behind the knobs. Once you pull the front away, there are 4 screws holding... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Touchpad stopped working   Christian T. • Seattle , WA • October 04, 2015

After doing much research online, I found out that the Touchpad on the JennAir downdraft gas range JGS9900BDS is very prone to "breaking." All my neighbors who has this model has reported that the touchpad stopped responding after a few years. Replacing was fairly simple. 1. Turn off the electricity to the range at the breaker 2. Pull the range out by an inch or two 3. On each side of the control panel, remove the screws. 4. Open the oven door and remove the 4 hex screws under the control... Read more
