The GE Model GLDT696TSS-00 was less than 4 years old so it was great that I could purchase the parts from a supplier that had very reasonable pricing and fast shipping, but not a very good testament to the quality of GE's products.

Ordered a new switch (4456027) from you. You seemed to have the best price and guaranteed that it was a OEM part -not everybody did. I had repaired Jenn Air cook tops before so I thought this was not a problem. Wrong. Mostly it was my own stupidity. I exchanged the wires from the old switch to the new one at a time but did write down where the original wires went. Flipped the breakers back on. Only one heater got hot. Searched the internet for several days for a wiring diagram. Nothing much....

Replaced igniter under each burner knob. Used needle nose pliers to remove the electrical connections (2) of the igniter then slipped it off the gas valve shaft. Replaced with new igniter (click in place) and replaced electrical connectors. Took about 15 minutes to complete.
