Microwave door won't open when you press the button? This door release lever connects the button to the latch mechanism. DIY fix in 30 minutes.
Turn off breaker, remove all screws { 4 on mine } inside oven door holding oven and microwave to kitchen cabinet and slide oven assembly out of cabinet {on to a temporary shelf of {4} 5 gallon buckets/plywood/bricks/shims that I made on the floor atop a scrap of carpet} just enough to access the side and rear screws of microwave's protective metal housing, then remove a total of 16 screws { there were 2 screws just inside top of "opened" microwave door that were holding top flat silver metal... The Door Switch is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire wall ovens. It is a component located on the oven door that detects when the door is opened and closed. The door switch works alongside the control board to regulate oven operations based on door position.
Symptoms of a bad door switch can include:
Causes relate to normal wear over extended use as the door switch mechanism cycles with frequent door openings and closings. Moisture exposure or impacts could also degrade switch performance.
This OEM Frigidaire switch is compatible with Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and some Electrolux wall oven models as well.
I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). That was about the most difficult part of the repair. Read more
Replacement spring for microwave door latch mechanism. Restores return tension so the latch engages and releases correctly. Needed when spring is broken or worn.

Replace a burned out or flickering microwave lamp assembly to restore interior lighting. Includes bulb socket for reliable power connection. Confirm fit.
Other than the indignity of having to buy a $28.00 bulb!! Installation required pulling the entire unit out of the wall and removing the sheet metal cabinet from around the microwave. All the fasteners were Phillips head screws except two, which were pin in Torx security type heads. REALLY? Requiring me to drive to Harbor Freight and spend an additional $6.00 for a 33 piece set to get the ONE size I needed. Buyer Beware!!! When shopping make sure the microwave unit has a bulb you can access... Read more

A replacement tension spring used to restore normal movement and positioning for the affected appliance component. Replaces a worn or broken spring to help parts return to their intended position and reduce loose or uneven operation. What it does:
This rectifier assembly (diode) is part of the microwave's high-voltage circuit, converting alternating current to direct current to power the magnetron. It works in conjunction with the high-voltage capacitor to double the transformer's output voltage. Replace this part if the microwave runs but does not heat, or if testing reveals the diode has shorted or opened.
The rectifier (a high-voltage diode) connected to the magnetron that supplies the RF energy that does the heating in the microwave was shorted. The shorted rectifier was found by using a multimeter to measure resistance which should be very high in this type of diode. After replacing the rectifier the Frigidaire microwave oven heated food normally. I thank AppliancePartsPros for sending the part so promptly. The real problem with this repair was getting this over the stove microwave oven out of... Read more
Fix a microwave that won't heat, turn, or run when you press start. This control board controls all functions and cycles. Moderate difficulty repair.
Microwave won't turn on, made popping noise, or smells like burned electrical? The noise filter often fails when solder joints arc or short out.
When using the microwave it made a frying sound and completely stopped working. Took cover off (after unplugging) and found filter coil solder joints fried. Took a chance on replacing filter. Works perfectly now. Looking at the solder joints again, under magnification, discovered they were not done properly in the first place. Use caution with cover off, there is a capacitor near the filter that could prove dangerous. Also need tamper proof torx bit to remove 2 of the cover screws, or small... Read more
