Fix a washer that won't drain or leaves clothes soaking wet. This drain pump removes water during the drain cycle. DIY-friendly, about 1 hour to install.
I drained the pump and removed coins etc from pump drain screen. This did not solve the problem, so I called Slagers, our local appliance store in Iowa City. The repair man came out two days later in the AM. He drained the pump again and checked the codes--he had to use our wireless internet because Sprint would not work from our house to determine the error code problem. He said it was the pump. I assumed he would call his Parts Dept for price and availability. Wrong assumption! He... Read more

I replaced the following parts in the GE WASHER that I have owned for approximately 14 years: Part no.: WH08X10038 - rubber gasket Part no.: WH01X10277 - inside gasket clamp Part no.: WH01x10279 - outside gasket clamp The two gasket clamps were ordered on 1/18/24 and delivered the next afternoon to my front door. I already had the replacement rubber gasket from a long time ago. I will mention that I have NEVER tried replacing a part on a major appliance. Since the washer machine is 14 years... Read more

It opens and closes electronically based on the selected water temperature and cycle requirements. Replace this part if your washer won't fill with water, overfills, or if water temperature is incorrect.
The GE front loading HE washer wound paused at the rinse fill point and need manual selection of drain & spin to finish the load. Online searches told me how to get the error code. Once E22 was found online searching told me it was a water flow problem- slow fill. I removed the hoses at the washer and inspected for clogs - nothing was found. I then put the ends of the hoses in a bucket and turned on the water- strong flow. Interesting is some debris/solids came out. I’m betting over time solids... Read more

Replaces a broken, damaged, or corroded suspension spring in your washing machine. Supports the tub and absorbs vibrations during wash cycles.
I literally could have done this job with a blindfold on! No kidding. Come on people! My grandmother could have done this one! Since the rubber gasket/skirt in the front of the washer (seals the door) was twisted when the spring failed and the drum failed, I had to remove the wire hoop and spring that held it in place and readjust the skirt. Easy. Them I removed the top of the washer (6 screws). Easy. Immediately you could see the failed spring. I ordered 2 springs so I could replace both... Read more
GE Front load washer drum belt. Size: 48.4 inches at rest postion and 51.2 inches when working.
I replaced the broken drive belt first and noticed the drive pulley loose. The nut that had held it in place had backed off. This resulted in significant wear on the pulley hub. I just tightened it up and installed the belt. I noticed the belt had a tendency to change its position on the pulley depending on the direction of rotation. I was a bit concerned but decided to see what would happen. This fix lasted for about a week. The belt came off the pulley and broken again. I called a... Read more

Suspension damper shock absorber for front-load washers. Replaces cracked, weak, or broken shocks causing excessive vibration and off-balance loads.
I researched the problem and found that normal wear and tear will cause the Damper shocks and the Suspension spring to fail. I decided to replace all Damper Shocks and the suspension Springs since I had the washer apart already. The Suspension Spring requires a lot of pull to get it in place correctly. I made a hook tool (from political yard sign frame) to hook the old spring to remove and pull the new spring up. It helps to have a second person use leverage (use a short 2x2 board) under the...
