The Spark Module is an OEM part for Frigidaire gas ranges. It allows precise flame control for cooking. This module sends the necessary electrical currents to the igniters at each burner, which then spark to ignite the gas.
Causes of a bad spark module can include electrical failures, corrosion, or moisture damage, as well as wear and tear from normal use.
Symptoms of a bad Spark Module include:
- Burners failing to ignite despite being turned on
- Intermittent ignition or weak spark generation
- Continuous clicking sounds from the burner area even after ignition
- Unlit burners leading to gas smell, indicating incomplete combustion
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Tappen Gas Stove circa 1981 (uses Fridgidaire parts). Unplugged stove from 110 wall outlet. Spark control module located on back side of stove about mid-way down on left side under a black cover that juts out. Black cover had 2 phillips head screws...removed the black cover and the spark module was right there...held on by 2 additional phillips screws.
