Clyde M Abbeville , SC February 25, 2017 Appliance: Model VIKING VGIC365 Viking oven door would not open all the way R&R both hinges. Very easy job took about 15 minutes.Make sure you open the new hinge to the first notch and it will slip in with no problem. I was curious as to why they go bad, I removed the spring off the bad hinge, then removed the rollers off the roll pin, because of design the hinge gets preloaded to one side and the roller digs in raising the hardened metal and causing a burr which restricts door opening. I could not find an explanation as to what the cause was, I was was determined to find it. I hope this may help someone in the future. Used a 2 foot pipe as a lever to break the hinge then had use a pry to undo the spring on the inside. Luckly this made removing the old hinge possible.Putting on the new hinge was a snap!
