This is a standard fuel cap for a hedge trimmer, chainsaw, or weed eater. The fuel cap assembly goes into the tank then screws onto the top of the fuel tank. A fuel cap keeps dirt and debris from falling into the fuel tank and gunking up the engine, causing it to misfire or corrode. Fuel cap assemblies are made of plastic, so they can dry out and snap. If the rubber seal on the fuel cap assembly is no longer preventing fuel from leaking, it’s time to replace it. Installing a new fuel cap assembly is simple.
