Description

This 5SP start device engages the refrigerator's compressor at power-up and helps safeguard it during startup. Replacing a weak or failed start device can restore cooling and eliminate repeated clicking or brief humming from the compressor. What it does:

• Works in the compressor start circuit to help the compressor start and then disengage from the run circuit
• Helps protect the compressor during hard-start conditions
• Typical failure symptoms include no cooling, compressor not running, rapid clicking, or a brief hum followed by shutoff
• Show heat damage or discoloration at the connector or housing

What's included: 1 start device assembly Install notes:

• Disconnect power and allow the compressor area to cool before servicing
• Access the compressor compartment; note/photograph wire positions, unplug the harness, and pull the device straight off the compressor pins
• Inspect compressor terminals and the harness connector; repair any burnt or loose terminals before installing the new device
• If your model uses a separate run capacitor, transfer and reconnect it exactly as before; fully seat the new device on the compressor pins and restore power
