Description

This safety thermostat monitors internal temperature and opens the circuit if the appliance overheats. Replacing a failed high-limit thermostat restores heat and helps protect controls, wiring, and nearby components from thermal damage. What it does:

• Monitors temperature and interrupts power to the heating circuit if an unsafe temperature is reached
• Helps prevent overheating damage to internal components
• When failed open, can cause no heat or cause the unit to shut off during high-heat operation
• At room temperature it should read closed/continuous; an open reading indicates replacement is needed
