I bought a door handle and door latch for $~100 and fixed my dishwasher in about 10 mins. I ordered the parts on Sunday, they arrived on Tuesday. Leo Z Turnersville , NJ December 12, 2016 Broken handle on maytag dishwasher Simple, shut off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher, remove the 10 Torx bit screws on the inside of the door, split the door apart and either have someone hold it up or tape it to your countertop. Remove the switch/latch assembly, remove the broken handle and pieces, new handle snaps into place and reassemble reversing the previous. Note: I found some chafed wires at the bottom of the door, I individually wrapped each one with insulating electrical tape and got a piece of plastic edge guard and put it on the metal that was causing the problem.
