Replaced It With New One

Being a complete DIY I hate to call some unknown person into my home knowing that just to get them there will cost me more than I will spend for parts that I don't need.After all, they are trying to make a living and by selling me parts that I don't need will increase their profits. I've dealt with APP before and was impressed by their site because I could find both mechanical and electrical drawings for almost everything I have. I looked up my dryer, decided what was probably the problem, added all the parts that I felt were probably OK and gave them a call. The customer rep, bless her heart was absolutely fantastic! She was really on the ball and made ordering all the parts I needed a breeze. A week later, when my parts arrived,( I went with the standard shipping), I installed everything, cleaned the dryer of all the lint I could vacuum out, crossed my fingers and pushed the start button. Son-of-a gun, the dryer works like new! I fixed the darned thing for less than $100 and now am a hero with my wife. Life doesn't get better than that.

Watched appliance parts repair video on youtube. Ordered the new hub and replaced it. Only trouble i had was the hub nut being rusted on the shaft. Took a chisel, cut it off being carful not to damage shaft threads. Cleaned the shaft with wire brush. New nut went on easy. Now the washer works good as new for a lot less money.

Replaced the oven temperature sensor probe.

I called the service department where we first purchased our oven and they sent a repairman. The service charge was 75. and the estimate to replace the touch pad and the mother board was 690. That didn't sound right to me so I checked APP online and called for advice. The repair cost me 175. and took less than an hour. The only tool I needed was a phillips screw driver. I had a problem removing the ribbon that was attached to the mother board but I called APP and they walked me through the problem. The oven works great and I saved 500. Thanks, APP
