Christopher C Pittsboro , NC October 08, 2016 Appliance: Maytag 30" Slide-In Downdraft Range Gas On Glass JGS9900BDF15 Jenn air control panel buttons didn't work After watching some videos online I decided I might be able to fix this myself. Seemed a common design flaw that caused the oven heat to eventually make the control panel fail. When I was away recently my wife got oven on but couldn't turn it off. Scary. The folks at Appliance Parts Pros made sure I got the right part (just the panel, not the computer control board itself). It took about an hour (but could do now in half that) to unscrew the front of the stove, unplug the wires from the computer board, unscrew it, then replace everything in the new panel control unit and rescrew it on. Success! Like having a new oven (my wife had told me we should just buy a new one, but that costs 10X more than this fix). Some patience needed with unplugging and replugging in the computer board. That was the trickiest part but still easy. P.S. Don't forget to also replace oven gasket to reduce heat leakage that may eventually mess up the new panel control too. What a bad design! And don't get me started on the corroded screws holding the burners in on top. Need to replace some ignitors but not sure how to do that easily.
